For Immediate Release

NORWALK, CONNECTICUT (February 25, 2026) — The Norwalk Gamer Symphony Orchestra (NGSO) will join orchestras across Connecticut this March to celebrate Connecticut Orchestra Month, a statewide initiative highlighting the depth andaccessibility of live orchestral music throughout the state.
Taking place throughout March 2026, Connecticut Orchestra Month showcases performances, education programs, and community events presented by 22 orchestras in 19 towns, offering 48 concerts and events across Connecticut. From professional symphonies to community, collegiate, youth, and chamber ensembles, participating organizations reflect Connecticut’s extraordinary concentration of orchestras—one of the highest per capita in the nation.
Connecticut Orchestra Month was launched in 2025 as a first-of-its-kind collaborative effort to raise awareness, break down barriers to attendance, and invite new audiences to experience live orchestral music close to home.
Connecticut’s orchestras collectively represent a major cultural and educational resource, engaging thousands of musicians and reaching audiences of all ages. Together, orchestras across the state annually contribute:
- 2,400 musicians performing in orchestras statewide
- 282 performances each year, reaching more than 186,000 audience members
- 350 community and educational events, serving 45,000 students at 230 schools
Sam Newsum, President of the NGSO, says: “Check out all the great concerts happening this March! Connecticut Orchestra Month is a great opportunity to get connected to local communities of music; you might discover inspiring art at an unexpected proximity. We’re especially excited this year to be partnering with the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra at their Music for All Ages concert!”
As part of the musical celebration, The Norwalk Gamer Symphony Orchestra will present:
Warm Up Performance for the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra’s Music of All Ages
March 22nd, 2:15pm at Norwalk City Hall.
Audiences of all backgrounds—first-time concertgoers and longtime classical music lovers alike—are encouraged to attend and experience the power of live orchestral music.

About The Norwalk Gamer Symphony Orchestra
The Norwalk Gamer Symphony Orchestra is an audition-free community orchestra based in Norwalk, Connecticut. Founded in 2016, the NGSO has grown from a small collective of musicians into a fully-fledged orchestra with a rather unique instrumentation that services the immediate Norwalk area, as well the surrounding communities.
The NGSO has three primary goals:
- Foster Musical Appreciation: Foster an appreciation for video game music as an important cultural art form
- Promote Musical Excellence: Promote and propel local musicians to improve their skills
- Encourage Meaningful Experience: Come together collectively and collaboratively engage in meaningful social interaction within the community
To that extent, the NGSO accepts local musicians of all ages and skill levels, audition-free. We provide opportunities to hone not just an individual’s musical skills, but interpersonal and leadership skills as well. At the end of the day, we like to consider the members of the orchestra as a family; we hold several non-music-based social events throughout the year.
Our rehearsals are open to the public. You can view our rehearsal schedule via our calendar, and you will always be welcome to drop in. If you do decide to visit us, please remember to be courteous.
